TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) Members of Tunisia's police union have disrupted a ceremony remembering two slain police officers, booing the country's president and forcing him to make a quick exit.
Several dozen police officers demonstrated Friday at the National Guard headquarters, several kilometers (miles) outside the capital, Tunis, alleging that
the government is not doing enough to stop terrorists, like those blamed for the killings of the two officers Thursday in the country's northwest.
The demonstrators called Friday for President Moncef Marzouki and the government to revive a harsh anti-terrorism law created under deposed dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
In reaction to the police killings, the Interior Ministry said Friday that it has launched an anti-terrorist operation in the region in which "several terrorists" have been killed.
