Rare skin condition causes tree-like lesions to grow from man

A Bangladeshi man dubbed the tree-man because of growths on his hands and feet has been admitted to hospital.

Abul Bajandar, 25, from Khulna, has been suffering from the rare and inherited skin disorder known as Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis, for the past seven years.

The disorder creates wart-like lesions which resemble tree branches.

According to the Daily Mail doctors at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital will decide on how to treat the condition.

According to local reports, the original tree-man Dede Koswara, of Indonesia, died this week, but that the disease wasn't the cause of death.

The Discovery Channel told his story back in 2008 after he had six kilograms of warts removed from his body.

The warts are a result of the severe Human Pappiloma Virus (HPV) infection.

Mr Koswara was at one stage forced to take part in a circus act in Bandung in order to make ends meet. However, once his case was publicised donations from the public began to flood in.
