The mum said she had lost sight of her husband and children and pulled out her phone.
“I just looked, like you know, I was trying to call my husband.
I wasn’t taking a picture."
She claims the two-time Oscar Best Actress winner turned and snapped at her.
“You got what you needed? Get what you came for? Enjoy that picture.”
Bafus said Swank stormed off, leaving her stunned.
“It just hurt my feelings because I was starting my son’s Make-A-Wish trip, which we wouldn’t have known, but just one of those situations where it was one of my first encounters with a celebrity, so I thought it was a little comical.”
Bafus confirmed Swank later contacted her via Instagram to apologise.
In the apology, Swank explained she was concerned her 2-year-old twins, Aya and Ohm, would be photographed.
Bafus said she was taken aback by the direct message.
“I did not expect Hilary Swank to talk to me,” she said.
Bafus’ husband, Bryan, said the encounter marred the start of their trip.
“To snap back at anybody when you’re in that profession is kind of like ... I don’t know ...”
He told the Daily Mail the couple are “not upset” at Swank.
The actor has never shared on social media images of her fraternal twins, born in April 2023.
She received criticism online at the time for choosing to give birth at a later stage in life; Swank was 50.
The Bafus family continued their trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, California, before returning to their home in Spokane, Washington.
