Dollhouse cleans up at auction

Dingley Hall, a lavishly furnished 19th century house with 15 rooms has sold for £125,000 ($347,716) - and it's not even 3m wide.

The extraordinary dollhouse was created by Hampshire boys Issac and Laurence Currie in the 1870s.

The dollhouse, sold by a descendant of its creators, was bought by the Norddeutsches Spielzeugmuseum, in Hamburg, for more than twice the estimated price, Christie's auction house said.

The three-storey house is 2.89m wide by 1.96m tall, and 0.51m deep. It has a music room with a working piano, a chapel with embroidered vestments for the priest, miniature Latin books in a bookcase and a cat and mouse.
