A teenage mum will face second-degree murder and cruelty charges after she fell asleep in a bathtub with her 10-month-old son.
Anslie Nicole Brantley, 19, from the US, had allegedly taken drugs when she passed out in the tub with her little boy, Draiden Shane Nichol, resting on her cheston June 9.
She was at her mum's house in Georgia when she later woke up to find her son unresponsive.
Emergency Services were then called to the Coweta County home where they found the baby boy cold and not breathing.
After performing CPR, first responders immediately rushed the baby to a nearby hospital but he was later pronounced dead.
Officials have not yet revealed what type of drugs Brantley had taken.
"The baby was in the bathtub with her and was unresponsive when she woke up," the Coweta County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
During the investigation, Brantley's mother Kelli Gordon who called emergency services, told officials her daughter had taken the infant to take a bath.
