An autopsy has failed to establish the cause of death of a 20-year-old west Auckland man, whose friends told police he may have taken Ecstasy.
The man collapsed suddenly in the central city after a private party on Saturday night.
He was taken to Auckland Hospital's emergency department by ambulance after he had a cardiac arrest.
He died soon after being admitted to hospital, an ambulance spokeswoman said.
Police said preliminary toxicology tests on the body will take three weeks.
