Two Kiwi travellers go head-to-head for "world's best internship"

Two Kiwi's are among the top finalists in line to be the next Discovery Intern.

Forget brewing coffee for the boss or endless trips to the photocopier, this is a chance to travel the globe for free as part of what the Discovery Network is modestly calling the "world's best internship".

The documentary makers are looking for an injection of new blood. To do this they are inviting the next generation of travel film makers join them on an overseas adventure, stopping in Japan, the United States, Germany, South Africa and Croatia

A shortlist of five budding bloggers from across Australia and New Zealand has been announced - but only one of them will be heading world adventure.

Among the hopefuls are Kiwis Kaleb Anderson, (22) from Auckland, and Sophie Piearcey, (26) from Queenstown. They are delighted to have made the shortlist but neither are on that flight just yet.

Both video entries have made the most of the beautiful New Zealand landscape.

Kaleb's film explores one of Coromandel's most stunning beaches, at Cathedral Cove while Sophie captures the magificence of her home town from Queenstown's mountain ranges.

Last year 26-year-old Kiwi, Ben Mikha was the first to take on the role an is still a contributor to the network. As the Discovery Intern, he travelled to Singapore, New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, London, Iceland and Italy.

The winner will be announced at the end of the month on the 28th February.
