We've been asking for your tips on staying stylish when you fly, for our Very Plane Clothes T-shirt giveaway. Here are some of our favourites so far.

My top tip for looking stylish whilst flying is to wear dark-coloured, non-crease, loose-fitting but expensive clothes. This allows you to feel AND look good, however long the journey. Also, I find a large silk scarf adds glamour, colour and comfort to any outfit and can be used as a cover-up, a warm wrap or just a stylish accessory.

There's no need to look (and smell) like a slob when flying. Wear clothes that don't crease; darker colours are best in case any food or drink gets spilled. Take a toothbrush, comb and deodorant ... and use them. For really long flights throw an extra shirt, pants and socks in your carry-on, then just before you land, get changed, brush your hair and teeth and get off looking and feeling as fresh as a daisy. Also a pro tip: manners never go out of style — have respect for your fellow passengers and crew.

A longline cardigan or jacket can hide your comfy pants or tops and leave you looking stylish while still feeling comfortable.

Take layers plus wear slim-line dressy leggings and take a pashmina wrap that can be used as a scarf or turned into extra light rug when napping, or rolled up as a pillow to lean against the window.

Drink only water on the plane and walk round often. Wash your face and smile at everyone.

Best tip for looking stylish when flying is to not take kids! No one looks stylish when trying to wrangle their offspring into seats for hours.
Trudy Longson
My daughter taught me a pashmina is great for travelling. Use it as a scarf when checking in but if you get chilly it is very warm and snuggly. If going to a hot destination, whip it off and scrunch it into your handbag. Wear flat roomy shoes as your feet swell. Boots are hard to get in and out of if you want to slip them off.
