Star Wars, ANA
Japanese airline All Nippon Airways unveiled its Star Wars themed planes for the release of The Force Awakens last year. On the maiden voyage of its R2D2 Boeing 777, an array of fans dressed as their favourite characters took to the sky.
And its latest creation, a tribute to cute droid BB-8, took its first flight last month.
Hello Kitty, EVA Airways
There are seven Hello Kitty themed jets around the world, but it's taken to the next level on Eva Airways - everything is Hello Kitty themed, from the headrests to the food, and even the bathroom.
Dedicated Kitty fans can check the airline's website to see where the special plane is flying next.
The Hobbit, Air New Zealand
Our national carrier is no stranger to themed livery. Following its Lord of the Rings planes, the airline unveiled a tribute to The Hobbit in 2012.
Frozen, WestJet
This amazing plane dedicated to the immensely popular Disney film Frozen would send young passengers into a frenzy. The 737 was handpainted and used 643.5 litres of paint in 23 different colours.
It was the airline's second collaboration with Disney - its earlier effort was a Sorcerer's Apprentice plane featuring Mickey Mouse.
Barcelona FC, Turkish Air
Turkish Air was so proud to be a major sponsor of Barcelona FC that they plastered the whole team down the side of a jet.
The Simpsons, Western Pacific
While this airline was only around between 1995 and 1998, it became well known for its brightly coloured livery. In fact, they were the first to offer the entire exterior of its jets up for rent. This paint job paying tribute to The Simpsons was their most famous offering.
Starcraft, Korean Air
In 2010, Korean Air hoped to appeal more to the younger generation - so it dedicated two jets to the video game StarCraft II ahead of its release.
Pokemon, ANA
In 1998, at the height of the Pokemon craze, ANA unveiled themed jets featuring the video game/cartoon. Passengers were treated to a full Pokemania experience, with themed headrests, staff uniforms, food and souvenir bags.
