Taranaki Minisprint competitor Lydia Dickinson cleaned up the competition and won the Taranaki round of the Oval Superstars Tour at Stratford Speedway on Saturday night.
Dickinson was in top form all night and won her first heat from a grid three start before moving forward nine places to finish third in her second heat from grid 12.
The top placings in the heats ensured that she started form the front row for the 20-lap feature and dominated the race from start to finish, racing into the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looking back.
New Zealand-ranked number two, Shane Dewar from Palmerston North made his way through the field and slotted into second place behind Dickinson on the last lap but was unable to execute a pass and finished just one second behind. Another Palmerston North driver, Elliott Heron, was third overall.
Saloon car competitors raced for their King of the Mountain Champs on the same night with Thomas Korff once again using the highline to make passes and come out on top.
