Cricket players at Kaponga Primary School celebrated a big win off the field last month when ANZ dropped by with a special dream delivery.
After the Cricket World Cup in 2015, the small Taranaki school has been cricket mad. A lack of funds has meant the team has put to use some good old Kiwi ingenuity and recently made a cricket net out of a few old fences.
The team also resurfaced their cricket turf and bought as much cricket gear as budgets allowed to ensure their young cricketers can continue to play the great backyard game.
Teacher Haydn Wright applied for help from ANZ to secure new gear to cater for the needs of his young cricket lovers. Last month they were surprised by the team from ANZ who hand-delivered new cricket gear to the team to ensure they can continue to play the game they love.
"We are proud to have been supporting cricket at all levels from grass roots to elite in New Zealand for 19 years. We know sometimes all you need is just that little bit of extra help to achieve your dreams, so we are committed to helping as many cricket fans as we can." says Sue McGregor, ANZ head of sponsorship and corporate marketing.
