AFTER outstanding success at the 'Hollywood the Ultimate Dance Competition' some dancers from last year's winning team are heading back to defend their title.
Last year, the crew won the overall title, as well as gaining first and third placings in other sections.
The team competed under Stepping Out's Hip Hop Crew. However, choreographer Jamie-Lee Poingdestre established her own hip-hop studio at the end of last year.
The team will now be flying under a different banner Beats Per Minute Hip Hop Dance Studio (BPM) and Jamie will be taking 12 dancers to the contest.
All BPM dancers over the age of nine were able to audition for the team, performing their own one-minute routine.
Jamie said it was hard to cut the crew down to a final 12, as all of the girls performed well.
The team have already started on their new routines and practices are in full swing.
Jamie choreographs her own work and has never been trained it is a natural talent that she loves sharing with all of her students.
"It's a dream come true for me, working with children and teaching what I love," said Jamie.
Over the next couple of months the team will be fundraising to help cover costs for the Wellington trip.
Jamie said she hopes the community will get behind and help these talented young people.
The dance competition will be held at the New Zealand Performing Arts School from September 26-28.
While there they will have the chance to enter workshops with some of the top choreographers from America Andre Fuentes (Brittany Spears choreographer) and Christopher Jones (You Got Served).
