Big Mac reward for badminton ace

STRATFORD High School student and Stratford local Alex Patterson (16), was crowned Taranaki Secondary Schools Badminton Champion last Friday.
The competition was fierce during the playoffs at New Plymouth Girls High School between Taranaki's top 25 secondary school level players.
The day ended victorious for Alex though, who took away the top prize for the second year running, having also won in 2009.
Alex, who is an avid member of Stratford's Badminton Club, also plays for Taranaki's regional under 18s team and thoroughly enjoys the sport.
Asked of how he celebrated his well won victory of Friday evening, Alex responded, "We just went down to MacDonalds for a Big Mac and fries."
