Approximately 200 keen walkers turned up at Inglewoods TET Stadium last Saturday to take part in a sponsored walk, raising money for the NZ Lions Child Mobility Foundation.
The event was sponsored by the North Taranaki Lions Clubs as part of a national fundraising campaign for the foundation, with other events taking place around the region and country.
With a mass start at at 10am, the participants stretched out around the Mondo Track, with the more experienced walkers soon showing their heels to the rest of the field.
With a good range of refreshments available on site, it was not long before the more social walkers started to take a break with a quick snack before heading back out on to track for another burst.
One of the more unusual entries was the Inglewood Junior Rugby group who carried one of their team in an armchair, but not for long, with the chair soon abandoned by the side of the track.
