Over the past 12 months a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes with the Central Taranaki Safe Community Trust says newly appointed chairperson Danny Bates.
The Central Taranaki Safe Community Trust (CTSCT) aims to keep the region a safe place and is responsible for facilitating groups such as Neighbourhood Support and the Community Patrol which operate in Central Taranaki.
Danny says the trust has been working hard developing their internal policies as well as creating short and long term plans based on community needs. "We have been looking into where we are and what we want to achieve in the future."
Danny says the trust will complete a needs assessment over the next six months, in conjunction with partnering organisations and forums with the community, "we want the trust to be proactive with community safety, rather than reactive."
Previous projects completed by the CTSCT include the installation of six new security cameras on Stratford's main street, developing a regular weekend patrol and creating a database of neighbourhood support in Central Taranaki.
