"Margaret and Joe Hancox travel from Eltham to buy Dolly's Milk and have done so since we first opened. We always enjoy talking with them, and were pleased to ask them to have the honour of drawing the winners."
All three winners came along to Dolly's Milk on Warwick Road on Thursday last week to receive their prizes. Elaine Katene says she was delighted to be told she had won first prize, consisting of $110 credit on a Dolly's Milk card, a cooler bag and two glass bottles for the milk.
"We have been coming here from Hawera since they opened. The milk is lovely." Elaine says her whole family enjoy the milk, "especially my two nephews. They say milkshakes made with Dolly's Milk are the best."
Elaine says she loves using the milk in cooking and baking.
"It makes absolutely beautiful custard".
DJ Quin, who won a $66 credit on a Dolly's Milk card, plus two glass bottles and a cooler bag, agrees.
"It tastes much nicer than the milk I buy elsewhere and is nice in baking."
Coming out to the farm to collect the milk is also part of the appeal of Dolly's Milk says DJ.
"Phoebe ( her hearing dog) loves the drive out here too. She loves watching from the car window."
The third prize was won by Wayne Baldoc - sort of.
"I put his name down because I never win anything," explains his wife Karen, whose cunning plan clearly worked, winning her and Wayne a $44 credit on a Dolly's Milk card, two glass bottles and a cooler bag.
"I am thrilled to have won this. Dolly's Milk is lovely. We come here twice a week to get it. It makes the best macaroni cheese and our kids love it in smoothies."
