"It's not all about making jewellery," says Niah Chesswas, owner operator of The Bead Hold, soon to be open on Broadway, Stratford.
"Beading is used in a range of hand crafts from quilting and crochet to model making and cake decorating."
Niah says The Bead Hold will be "like a supermarket for all your bead based crafts, with all the possible components you need" as well as being a place that you can complete your pieces with Niah's expertise.
The Bead Hold was formerly located in Auckland for nine years but closed down when the commute proved to be too difficult. Niah says she is excited to bring it to Stratford. "For the past three years I have been operating through the website, it is nice to have a shop to work in again."
Niah says while The Bead Hold will only be open by appointment, it is open to beaders of all levels "whether you are a beginner or an expect or maybe just want to make something special, I am happy to help". Niah adds that she will also be starting up beading classes and will be open for group bookings, "for a girls night out or even birthday parties".
