Several titles were on the line during Saturday's racing including the Modifieds Taranaki Championship, Ginge Hayward Memorial, Youth Ministock City of New Plymouth Classic, Midget King of the Mountain Champs and Saloons Best in the West Champs.
Speedway correspondent Jess Johnson says the competition was fierce.
"There was huge skill on the track and the drivers all fought hard to gain the titles."
The Modifieds Taranaki Championship heats were tight, with Farren Lowry taking the Championship title.
Due to the carnage of the earlier races only five modified cars made it onto the track for the Ginge Hayward Memorial race, says Jess.
"After a tough fight with lots of speed Bunter Pierce took the trophy with a five second lead on second place John 'Jacko' Jackson and third place Farron."
The Saloons Best in the West champs racers also put on a show for spectators.
"Thomas Korff in particular showed great skill on the outside line and carried out brilliant passing moves."
Thomas went on to win the Best in the West title.
One youth ministock driver stood out above the rest during the City of New Plymouth Classic, says Jess.
"William Hughes showed brilliant skills and is sure to be a speedway star."
William won the championship with 79 points, followed by Brad Uhlenberg on 29 points and Campbell Stewart in third place with 26 points.
"Visiting driver Dayne Maxwell showed impressive driving skills and although the locals fought hard Dayne went onto win all three heats and the King of the Mountain Midget Championship."
Stratford's top driver Duane Hickman was missing from this race due to a non-speedway related injury.
With the season nearing a close don't miss out on watching Stratford's finest driver's race on Saturday, April 18, 6pm at the Stratford Showgrounds. Results from races on Saturday, April 11 are on page 20.
