St Mary's Diocesan School made two donations to Hawera Intermediate School on Friday morning. After a fire ripped through the intermediate school earlier this year, the St Mary's Diocesan School PTA wanted to show their support and decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the school's annual Under the Mountain Arts and Crafts event. Students at the school also wanted to make a donation to the intermediate school and held a mufti day to raise funds. Becky Wolland, chairperson of the Hawera Intermediate School PTA, says the school has seen on-going support from their local community and has been humbled by donations from further afield like St Mary's Diocesan School.
