The Stratford Floral Art Group held its September meeting on Monday, September 21.
How lucky we are to have such an experienced club member in Mary Read who was our tutor and demonstrator for the day, taking us on a journey of "Back to Basics".
We were shown how to use pin holders and bracken fern as mechanics as there was no such thing as oasis in her day. A very sprightly Mary has a number of talents she has acquired over her eighty plus years.
Anything to do with art she has a nack of being able to handle whether it be pottery, china painting or floral art, she will give it a go and has a great eye for detail that has enabled her to produce fine pieces of work.
During her busy life as a mother of four and a farmer, she also found time to pursue her hobbies and became a tutor of Floral Art at evening classes at the local high school.
