Students at Eltham Primary School were treated to a performance by the Kahurangi dance theatre group last week, which worked as an introduction to their next school topic; Matariki.
Principal Liz Malone says the Hastings based group did a performance around the topic of Matariki to give students a visual introduction to the subject.
Students all enjoyed the performance, with seven-year-old Alexis Dravitski saying she couldn't wait to see them again.
"It felt like there was a speaker inside of me when the music was playing, and I wanted to dance."
Alexis got her wish as all students were encouraged to stand up and try some of the dance movements themselves.
