ONCE again, Eltham will put on its historic costumes and become a movie star thanks to the film, 'Predicament.'
People passing through Eltham in the week of August 20-27 will think they've gone back in time; empty shop windows will be festooned with old-fashioned relics and props, and movie memorabilia will
be just about everywhere.
Why? Because Eltham wants to keep celebrations around the August 20 early premiere of 'Predicament' going until its full public release on August 27.
The shop windows in Bridge Street Eltham will once again be going back in time with old fashioned relics and props to simulate the displays used during the filming of the Predicament movie in Eltham last year.
This is to celebrate the Predicament Premiere in Hawera on August 20 this year and Eltham will keep the celebration going until after the public release date of the movie on August 27.
"We want to encourage people to visit the town to see where the movie was filmed," says Eltham Business Association president, Judith Rodgers.
"We also want to give the public opportunity to see some of the props and costumes used in the movie first hand."
The town already has bold plans to create a Predicament movie memorabilia display in its Town Hall and will be promoting a Predicament Movie Trail brochure. Through this, the public will be able to re-live the transformation of some of the Bridge Street businesses that were featured in the film.
"In order to make this great event work, we're going to need people to let us use items that they may have had borrowed from them during the filming."
If anyone has any props or costumes used during the filming of the Predicament Movie that we could borrow for the display we would be grateful. Please contact Judith on 06 764 7247.
