The early kick-off time didn't deter rugby fans from watching Australia destroy England's world cup dreams on Sunday morning.
Ian Hayward, owner operator of the New Commercial Hotel, says the early morning crowd were all in good spirits when they gathered around the big screen to watch the game.
When the Stratford Press visited, all were cheering on Australia apart from Ian who felt it would be good for the host nation to continue through.
It was the first time the New Commercial Hotel had opened for an early game this world cup, but Ian says it won't be the last. "We have had a good crowd come out, they are all enjoying a breakfast with their rugby and we will be taking bookings for the next games as well as it seems to be a popular option."
For rugby fans Kay McAlpine and Chris Hendren, the pub was the perfect place to watch the game. "And what a breakfast we have!" Kay says the breakfast was fantastic, which combined with watching Australia win made for a great start to the day.
