Stratford on Stage is well and truly on the way to presenting their next show 50 & Fabulous in April.

The cast is having a great time thanks to the skills of director Helen Snook. Equally, the antics of Mildred (played by the inimitable Patsy Commerford) create havoc and hilarity throughout rehearsals.

Mildred is a cantankerous old lady who repeatedly 'breaks out' of hospital to meddle in affairs. She has the most show stopping lines which Patsy delivers to perfection.

The theatre company is lucky to have the set building skills of Baz Gordon and Gary Hann.

These two have spent many hours constructing the set for 50 & Fabulous along with constructing, renewing and installing the new lighting mounts for the theatre.

Patrons will be pleased to know the lighting mounts in the main theatre have been lifted to make the viewing experience better.

With four weeks to go rehearsals are into full swing. Costuming is a major part of the show and Patsy has been in her element organising these. Many of these 60s treats have been sourced from The Wardrobe on Regan St. Others have been purchased from overseas and will be available at The Wardrobe post show. Keep an eye out for those sparkly numbers for your costume parties.

Keep an eye out around Stratford as the billboards advertising the show will soon be going up.

The Stratford on Stage committee is a small group but would like to grow its membership. Membership lists are being updated and the committee would love to have old and new members' contact details to keep people up to date with activities. A newsletter is going to go out shortly so please get them in soon.
