It was a case of those magnificent men (and women) and their machines on Sunday, when members of the Taranaki Vintage Machinery Club braved the hail and cold to share their love of all things rusty, restored, reconditioned, well-loved and well-used with the public.
President of the club, Dave Hunger, brought along a unique replica of Henry Ford's first tractor with him.
"Ford built his as a prototype and used it on his own farm for a few years," explains Dave, who adds that he, just like Henry Ford himself, built his tractor out of bits and pieces from other vehicles and machines.
It's got a Model T radiator and steering wheel in it, and I made the wooden spoke front wheels myself.
Dave built the replica a few years ago, after emailing the curators of the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan where the original tractor is on display to get the exact measurements for his replica.
