The two women chosen to cut the centennial cake for Stratford Plunket can both boast a long connection with the national organisation.
Patroness Ivy Radich and life member Pam Arthur have a combined total of over 100 years association with Plunket in Stratford. The women joined with nursing staff and committee members from over the years to commemorate and celebrate 100 years of Plunket nursing in the district.
Many of those present had fond memories to share, including Gwen Herbert who was the Stratford Plunket Nurse in 1949. Gwen's recollection of driving the rough roads to Whangamomona then needing to catch a railway "jigger" to visit a family were some of the amazing tales shared at the dinner.
Pop in to Stratford Plunket to fund out about the range of services on offer. 14 Seyton Street. Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm. Ph (06) 765-7714.
