THE Eltham Village Gallery's final exhibition for the year has gone off with a bang. Four paintings from the members' Christmas Cracker exhibition have been sold in the first week of the exhibition, which gallery co-ordinator Maree Liddington says is particularly pleasing, after a mostly quiet year.
The exhibition also features
the work of father and son Graeme and Adrian Hotter, both painters and first-time exhibitors at the gallery. Although Graeme's cartoon-style maps of Taranaki, featuring the region's beauty spots and golf courses, have been selling well at the gallery this year, this is the first time he has shown his paintings.
The Christmas Cracker exhibition includes a wide variety of work, with everything from paintings to fibre art and pottery, reflecting the very diverse interests of the gallery's members.
The exhibition will run until Friday December 17 and the gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 3pm. It is staffed by volunteers, many of whom are the artists whose work is displayed on the walls.
