Olympic boardsailing nominee Tom Ashley today continued his solid form at a world ranking regatta in France to stay at the front of the fleet after nine races.
He showed excellent form in all four races of the day at Hyeres, with three seconds and a win among his results.
However, competitionremained tight, with Ashley just two points ahead of Frenchman Fabrice Hassen.
Fellow-Olympic nominees Sarah Macky and Hamish Pepper finished the day third and seventh overall respectively in the women's 470 and Laser classes sailed at the same venue.
In the men's 470, Simon Cooke and Alistair Gair were seventh, while Finn sailor Dean Barker continued his climb up the points ladder to be 10th.
Sharon Ferris and her Yngling crew notched up their first win of the week to move up to sixth.
At the Star world championships in Italy, light conditions and wind changes meant no boat completed the third race, leaving New Zealander Rohan Lord and Andrew Taylor still in seventh spot.
