New Zealand sailor Hamish Pepper maintained his overnight position on the final day of racing to finish fourth overall in the world Laser world championship in Turkey.
In the day's two races, sailed in 13 to 18-knot winds, Pepper had a 14th and a 12th among the 73-strong gold fleet atBitez.
He was caught by Swede Karl Suneson on the points table but edged out Suneson on a count-back.
Pepper, a former world No 1, will compete in his second Olympics in Athens in August.
The regatta was won by Brazilian Robert Scheidt, who took the world title for an unprecedented seventh time.
Scheidt, the 1996 Olympic champion, finished ahead of American Mark Mendelblatt, who pipped Australian Michael Blackburn for runner-up.
Of the other New Zealanders, Matthew Blakey was 30th, Andrew Murdoch 31st and Michael Bullot 40th.
