Yachting: NZer sixth in world champs

New Zealand sailor Sarah Winther improved to sixth after the second day of qualifying at the Olympic Laser Radial World Championships in Brazil today (NZT).

Winther posted a fifth and a seventh in the regatta's fifth and sixth races today to trail leader Paige Railey, of the United States, who had a sixth and a second.

New Zealand's other entry in the regatta, Jo Aleh, is 22nd, despite a 12th and an 11th today.

In the men's fleet, Blair McLay is 15th overall, with Max Andrews further back in 22nd place after six races.

A total of 165 competitors from 39 countries are competing in the regatta.
