The New Zealand yachting trio of Sharon Ferris, Raynor Smeal and Ashley Holtum are leading the field after the third day of racing at the Yngling World Championships in Mondsee, Austria.
More than halfway through the regatta, the trio, led by Ferris, hold a two point lead over the UnitedStates after two race wins so far.
A fourth and a first in yesterday's two races were enough to lift them from third place into the gold medal position.
Today is a rest day and with four races remaining, the regatta concludes on Saturday.
Ferris said day three had seen her crew improving but they had had had a nervous wait while numerous protests were heard before their results were confirmed.
