Yachting: Kiwi sailors make it two records in two weeks

New Zealanders Sharon Ferris and Fraser Brown were part of the Maiden II crew who yesterday broke their second sailing record in two weeks.

The team's record Cowes-to-St Malo trip followed their breaking the round Britain and Ireland sailing record last week.

The trip from Cowes to St Malo took the crew 5h 21m, smashing the 6h 21m record set by PlayStation.

Skippered by Briton Tracy Edwards, Maiden II is starting a three-year programme which includes this year's Jules Verne Trophy, for non-stop unassisted global circumnavigation, and the non-stop event The Race in 2004.
