The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron beat six countries to win the International Youth Match Racing regatta held on Waitemata Harbour.
The regatta was sailed in the Squadron's 10 Elliott 6m boats by teams from Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, the United States and New Zealand.
The weather favoured the two
heavier Squadron crews, who had a small lead over the American King Harbour and the United Kingdom Royal Yachting Association at the end of the double round-robin competition.
The Squadron crew of Simon Minoprio, Ryan Houston and Hayden Goodrick beat the Royal Yachting Association 3-2 in the best-of-five final.
Each team had two wins before the last race, and New Zealand won by a second.
The second Squadron crew of Laurie Jury, Matt Stuart and Graeme Sutherland finished third.
