The Global Challenge fleet will be leaving Wellington Harbour today after a month in dock.
They are setting sail to Sydney on leg three of the race, a 1,250 mile sprint, in what is dubbed the world's toughest race.
BP spokesman Jonathan Hill said BP Explorer is ready to continue
the challenge.
He said the last leg was really competitive with the top three boats arriving within three hours of each other.
BP Explorer is currently first equal and confident it will do well.
Jonathan Hill said the crew has had a great time touring New Zealand and spent the last week preparing their yacht.
The yacht which was forced to cut short the leg of its race into New Zealand hopes it can still pull back some points.
Imagine It Done, skippered by Dee Caffari, had to divert to the Chathams after one of the crew fell sick and needed life-saving medical treatment.
They are now at the bottom of the table.
As she prepares to leave Wellington, Ms Caffari has kept her sense of humour about what happened.
She said she has told the crew they can fall sick only if they are less than 1,500 miles from land.
The yachts start to make their way out to the start line from Wellington at 11am today.
