Auckland teenager Jo Aleh was the best-placed New Zealander in medal contention going into the final day of the Semaine Olympique Francaise yachting regatta in Hyeres, France.
Aleh, 19, was fifth in the 80-strong Laser Radial fleet at the grade one regatta after five days, with the top-10 to contestthe final race early tomorrow (NZT).
The top-ranked New Zealand Laser Radial sailor was just one point off the bronze medal position.
Other New Zealanders in the top-10 going into the final race were Andrew Murdoch, seventh in the men's Laser, Dan Slater, sixth in the Finn, Tom Ashley, seventh in the men's boardsailing, and the women's Yngling crew of Sharon Ferris, Raynor Smeal and Ashley Holtum who were seventh.
