Springboks prop Os du Randt was recalled and winger Ashwin Willemse dropped in the features of a revamped Cats team to play the Waratahs at Johannesburg tomorrow morning.
Stung by the 45-32 defeat last weekend against the Hurricanes at Ellis Park, coach Chester Williams has made wholesale changes.
Jaque Fourie
comes in for Willemse on the right wing with Chumani Booi retained on the left.
Neil Powell replaces Michael Claassens at halfback and CJ van der Linde will start at tighthead in place of Marius Hurter.
Du Randt, back from groin surgery, will reclaim the No 1 jersey following a calf muscle injury to Ollie le Roux.
The Waratahs will be buoyed by the return of flanker Phil Waugh, who played in the tsunami benefit match at Twickenham last weekend.
Coach Ewen McKenzie will be without first five-eighth Lachlan Mackay, who has returned to Australia after injuring his ribs in the Waratahs' win over the Sharks.
Tim Donnelly is likely to get the vacant spot.
The Waratahs have made their usual flying start to the Super 12 with wins over the Chiefs and the Sharks, and with fullback Mat Rogers and wing Lote Tuqiri playing decisive attacking roles.
"They are well organised and have excellent backs, just like the Hurricanes," Cats coach Chester Williams said.
