Rugby: O'Donnell called into New Zealand sevens squad

Taranaki's Kylem O'Donnell has been called into the New Zealand sevens squad to replace Selesi (Charles) Piutau for the ninth and final round of the sevens world series starting in London tonight (NZT).

Piutau has been ruled out with an ankle injury.

New Zealand are 11 points clear of Fiji at the top of the world series table and have Argentina, Russia and Kenya in their pool.

Lote Raikabula will take part in his 50th IRB tournament, while captain DJ Forbes is only two tries away from becoming the 22nd try centurion in IRB sevens rugby. Forbes is on the cusp of joining five New Zealanders _ Tomasi Cama (116), Karl Tenana (113), Amasio Raoma (112), Tafai Ioasa (111) and Zar Lawrence (100) - who have achieved the feat.
