Auckland suffers humiliating loss to Waikato

Auckland have suffered a humiliating loss against Waikato in the NPC first division rugby match at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.

The defending champions have been smashed 59-11, with the Mooloos running in eight tries to one.

Flying winger Sitiveni Sivivatu performed a one-man demolition job on Auckland with five tries, while David Briggs, Liam Messam and Steven Bates dotted down once each.

David Hill added three penalties and five conversions.

Brent Ward scored all of Auckland's points, with a try and two penalties.
