Former Springbok Joubert wants rain for Tri-Nations clash

Retired Springbok fullback Andre Joubert wants rain for tomorrow's Tri-Nations test in Christchurch so as to slow New Zealand's backline down.

While predicting a South Africa win, Joubert conceded it would be no easy task to beat the All Blacks and was "praying for rain".

Without rain, the All Blacks were likely to start using their backline more effectively.

"It's quite dangerous when they get going. I think we've got to try get it up front and keep it there," said the 1995 rugby World Cup winner who will be at Jade Stadium in to watch his former team.

Joubert, rated among the best fullbacks in the world in his playing days, works as a South African ambassador for Tanalised Framecoat Timber Treatment, a role that saw him visit Waimea Sawmillers in Nelson as part of a 10-day promotional tour.
