Rugby: Warning for Jackson

Bay of Plenty five-eighths Glen Jackson incurred the wrath of his union this week when he injured himself playing in a social game the day after taking the field against North Harbour in the NPC.

Jackson struggled at training and was initially reluctant to explain his damaged leg. When the reason came out, Jackson received a strong warning about the responsibilities of professional sportsmen.

"It was a bit too close to being another Rua Tipoki-type thing for us, but fortunately he seems to be recovering," union chief executive Jon Brady said.
