“Whichever way it goes, whether he stays or wherever he ends up, plays union, plays league, he’ll go with our blessing,” Webster said.
“If there’s an opportunity at the end of the season for him to stay, we’d celebrate that too.
“We’ve had really good conversations and we’re on the same page, which is always a good feeling between a player and a coach.”
Tuivasa-Sheck has been a key member of the Warriors since his club debut in 2016, apart from a stint in rugby union from 2022-2023, when he joined the Blues and played three tests for the All Blacks.
He brought up his 150-game milestone for the Warriors in March this year.
In 2025, he won the Simon Mannering Medal, the player of the year award, for a fourth time.
Tuivasa-Sheck had previously been linked with the proposed R360 union competition, which is yet to get off the ground.
With his contract up, he had been linked with the Sydney Roosters, where he has previously played, and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The move comes with the Warriors set to sign two new wingers for the 2027 NRL season.
They’ve reportedly signed Kiwi winger Will Warbrick from the Melbourne Storm for next season, while the Daily Telegraph claims the Warriors are in advanced talks to secure Grant Anderson from the Brisbane Broncos, as part of the deal of letting co-captain Mitch Barnett depart for family reasons.
Former Warriors player Jazz Tevaga is currently contracted to Wakefield, who are sixth in the Super League standings.
Wakefield are currently in their 153rd year and have two championships and five Challenge Cups, although they have not lifted a trophy since 1968.
