Shaun Johnson has been released from contract effective immediately
It's all over for Shaun Johnson and the Warriors.
Warriors CEO Cameron George announced that the 28-year-old halfback will be leaving the NRL club after being granted an early release from his contract - effective immediately.
This comes after Johnson, who signed a two-year million-dollar deal with the club in2017, requested the release on Tuesday.
Behind all the drama and quickly fracturing relationship between player and club, it's hard to deny the impact Johnson made during his time at the Warriors.

Johnson's miracle play against the Storm leads the Warriors into the Grand Final. A dummy before a jink and an offload to centre Lewis Brown broke Melbourne's heart with three minutes left, giving the Warriors a 20-12 victory.
