Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson has been named the Rugby League International Federation's International Rookie of the Year.
Johnson, 22, who has just completed his second NRL season, made his international debut for the Kiwis in the 2012 Anzac test against the Kangaroos at Eden Park in April.
After making 16NRL appearances in his rookie NRL season, he appeared in 22 of the Warriors' 24 matches this year and was the club's equal-highest try-scorer with 12 (alongside Manu Vatuvei and Konrad Hurrell).
He led the team's statistics for most try assists with 17 as well as line breaks with 13. He had the second most off-loads (20) and the third most tackle breaks (76).
The Rugby League International Federation's Player of the Year was Kangaroos captain Cameron Smith. He was also named International Hooker of the Year, one of seven Australians to be picked in the International Team of the Year, along with Melbourne Storm teammate Cooper Cronk (Halfback of the Year) while Storm coach Craig Bellamy was International Coach of the Year.
In an amazing season, Smith also led Queensland to a seventh consecutive State of Origin series triumph, was Dally M Hooker of the Year and led the Storm to the NRL Premiership.
