Rugby League: Anderson, Lauiti'iti honoured at awards

Warriors coach Daniel Anderson won coach of the year last night in the Dally M Awards for rugby league in Sydney.

Anderson was a popular winner after guiding the Warriors to their first minor premiership 18 months after the club almost folded was broke and had hardly a player on its books.

Another winner for the Warriors was favourite Ali Lauiti'iti, named best second-rower.

Quietly-spoken Bulldogs star Nigel Vagana, a former Warrior, went home as the league's centre of the year for the second season running and was also acknowledged as the leading try-scorer with a club-record 21 four-pointers.
