The Cronulla Sharks paid A$20,000 ($25,528) to a female staffer after she was accidentally hit in the face by the club's chief executive Tony Zappia, Fairfax reported.
The embattled club has also been accused of distributing sex toys to players to take home, horrifying some of their wives and girlfriends.
Mr Zappia accidentally punched the club's then-community liaison officer Jenny Hall during a shadow boxing incident in August 2008.
Ms Hall said nothing publicly about the matter and has since moved interstate, but she received A$20,000 from the club, Fairfax said.
Mr Zappia denied allegations that in 2008 players were offered sex toys to take home to their wives and girlfriends.
Sources told Fairfax that the items were stored and distributed from the club's offices.
Also last year, Fairfax said, an unofficial club supporter and sex-shop owner allegedly entered the players' dressing room after a game at Shark Park with two scantily clad women who were introduced as "bitch one and bitch two".
On Wednesday evening, Mr Zappia sent a mobile text message to Fairfax referring to the alleged sex toys.
"The club has not provided those items to players," the message read.
He also said the club did not have any sponsors "of that nature".
