"We'll be spending some time together in the next few days. He'll be at the game on the weekend.
"It's always good to chew the fat with other coaches."
The meeting of minds comes after former All Blacks World Cup winning coach Sir Graham Henry spent a month earlier this season observing the Warriors and offering advice to McFadden in an unpaid mentoring role.
McFadden hopes he and Lancaster can learn from each other and said it was always useful to discuss and share ideas with other coaches with experience at the highest level.
"It's always mutually beneficial," he said.
"He's obviously coached at the highest level and is very experienced.
"It's just really enjoyable to just talk footy and talk (about) the same challenges that every coach has. Anything you can learn is a positive."
Lancaster spent four years coaching England after replacing former national coach and captain Martin Johnson after the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
In 2012 he guided England to an upset 38-21 win over the world champion All Blacks during their end of season northern hemisphere tour.
His tenure came to a controversial end when he resigned following England's worst ever World Cup campaign last year.
Under Lancaster, England became the first host nation, the first England team, and the first former World Champions to be eliminated out in the pool stages of the tournament.
He later came in for criticism for playing Burgess at centre despite the league convert having been blooded as a flanker by his club side Bath.
Burgess was quick to exit the 15-man code following the tournament and returned to the Rabbitohs this season.
