Racing: Weanlings going to Karaka

New Zealand Bloodstock has received 271 entries for the National Weanling Sale at Karaka on May 7.

At the sale, 16 stallions will be making their Southern Hemisphere debut, including Al Jadeed, Captain Rio, Chianti, Danroad, Dubai Destination and Ekraar.

The weanling market can be attractive for buyers who are looking to turn a profit within a reasonably short space of time.

At last year's sale there were a number of successful "pinhooks" from the weanling sale through to the yearling sale.

"We can offer buyers finance for this sale that has been designed for the sole purpose of assisting pinhookers through to the yearling sale," said NZB leasing and finance manager Ross Gwyn.
