KEY POINTS:

Brisbane - The largest breeding sale ever conducted in the Southern Hemisphere, the Magic Millions National Sale at the Gold Coast, has received another significant boost with the announcement from prominent Gold Coast businessman Paul Makin that he is to sell his entire draft of mares in Australia in foal to his champion stallion Starcraft.

The sale will attract thousands to the Gold Coast through late May and June with over 2500 lots to be catalogued.

"The Gold Coast is the perfect place to offer my outstanding selection of mares for sale and I intend to buy quite a few new mares to go to Starcraft this year," Makin said.

"The idea behind the sale is to ensure that the Starcraft babies will be prepared by a number of new, influential people.

"I've seen videos of my beautiful Starcraft foals in England and I expect the Aussie foals to be just as nice.

"The best advertising for my stallion is place the foals in the hands of a wide band of people.

"I can always buy back as many yearlings as I like and I will."

As an added bonus, every mare will be sold with a free 2007 nomination to Starcraft.

The Starcraft promotion draft will be offered with no reserve.

Among the mares in foal to Starcraft to be sold are the group one winners Private Steer, Elevenses, Episode and Dowry, group two winners Pay My Bail, Sylvaner and Soap Opera, group three winner Classy Dane and listed winner Chickens.
