Ignore the fact that class acts King's Chapel and Distinctly Secret failed to win at the Te Teko trials.
Trainer Mark Walker was thrilled with both. King's Chapel carried a big weight when he finished solidly into third in a 1000m heat and Walker had not expected Distinctly Secret to produce much and thought his fourth was fabulous.
"He [Distinctly Secret] hasn't done much fast work at all and his fourth surprised me. He must be carrying a fair bit of residual fitness from his Queensland campaign."
King's Chapel will possibly have a gallop between races as he leads up to the Mudgway Stakes at Hastings on August 28.
"I'll kick Distinctly Secret off in the same restricted race at Taupo I lined him up in last year," said Walker.
Nine-year-old Cent Home made his first public appearance since last year's Kelt Capital Stakes when he finished fifth behind Atapi, Tina Temple and King's Chapel.
"I was pleased with the run," said his new trainer, Lance O'Sullivan. "He showed that despite his age he is still keen to do something."
