Campari Belle looked ready for a bold fresh-up effort at Avondale when she worked impressively at Matamata yesterday.

On a good plough, Campari Belle and Stravigent were paired in a smart 1200m in 1:17.8, the final 600m in 36.9. Campari Belle has had a trial to ready her for the
R92 1200m tomorrow, in which she will be ridden by Michael Walker.

Race rival and likely favourite, Madamvizelle got through good work on the course proper, which was dead 15m out. She ran 1000m in 1:3.8 and the last 600m in 37.2, showing that she has trained on well.

On the all-weather track Kristov was hard held over 1000m in 1:7.6, the last 600m in 39.3. Illicitly ran a tidy 1200m in 1:19, the last 600 in 37.8, while stablemate Sabra took 1:24.6 and 41.6.

Apowwow had pace on throughout her 1200m in 1:18.2, the 600 in 39. Maloney ran from the 1000m in 1:5.6, the 600 in 39.2, while Seventh Heaven clocked 1:18.4 for 1200m and 37.8 for the last 600m. Bellevue Lass was restricted to 1000m in 1:0.9, the 600 in 40.2.

On the plough, Sir Sintillate shaped up for next week with 1000m in 1:3.6, the final 600m in 36.8. Umistme went the same distance in 1:5.6 and 37.2, while Avondale entrant Prickle took 1:6.5 and 38.2.

Over 1000m, Pineau worked well to record 1:4.6 and 38.2, Alamine and Motif 1:4.2 and 37.2, and Klassic Singer 1:14.2 and 39.

La Grandezza looks set for a bold run at Avondale after an encouraging gallop at Cambridge.

Ladykin looked in good order for Avondale when rounding of 800m in 55. the last 600m in 40. Swordsman and Bridie Belle were on terms at the end of 1200m in 1.20.1 coming home in 38.6.

Batavian Gold was timed form the 600m in 39.3. Make Five was comfortable throughout her work running the last 1200m in 1.24. the final section in 44.1. Wallandra Prince sprinted 600m 39.3. Grace and Favour left 1200m behind in 1 19.2 the final 600m in 38.2.

Using a good plough, Filey cut out 1000m in 1:2, the last 600 in 36.8. Aria covered her 1000m in 1:3.3, the final 600 in 36.9. Both resume racing at Avondale tomorrow and, given reasonable ground, could show up.

Waltzmydear ran 600m in 36.9. A win at Avondale would be deserved. Felix The Brat was given a comfortable 1000m but still returned 1:3.8, the last 600 in 38.5. He could be one for longer odds.

Dansky looked good running 1000m in 1:4.4, the last 600 in 38.6. So did Dansasteel, who recorded 1:4.8 and 38.6 for the same task.

Working on a good plough, Rosetti Bay and Sweet Torque were running on well at the finish of 1000m in 1.1.7, the 600m in a smart 35.
